DSP Applications Engineer

Santa Clara, CA

The DSP Applications Engineer works with customers to ensure successful deployment, integration, and use of DSP Concepts’ software products including TalkTo™, our software-based AFE for voice-controlled products.   This position is based in our Santa Clara, CA office and may require occasional domestic or international travel.  The primary responsibilities for DSP Applications Engineer are:

• Supporting customer integration of our Voice UI products via engineer-to-engineer interactions on-site, by phone, and in our online forum

• Developing enhancements to our products, enabling easier integration and debugging of customer problems

• Envisioning and developing collateral material to help make our products easier to learn. This includes developing and communicating reference audio processing designs and refining formal product documentation

• Testing customer products and verifying that they meet expected performance criteria, and such other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time 

• Designing and conducting internal hardware/software tests to ensure the quality of the hardware/software before handing them to customers

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering

• 1-3 years experience in Linux kernel development for ARM

• Familiar with C/C++ programming for embedded applications

• Experience with Git and Jenkins

• Experience with reading schematics, using test equipment such as scopes and meters, board bring-up, audio system drivers

• Ability to clearly communicate issues, benefits, priorities, tradeoffs and recommended solutions to customers and managers

• Excellent on trouble-shooting and solving problems  

• Experience with Digital Signal Processing is a plus

• Experience with Matlab and Python is a plus
