Hi,
I have experienced this a few times - I can hear clipping at my output device: an 8ch amp connected to some cambridge audio satellite speakers / usb headset (happened on both set up)
AWD runs on win11
I have checked the sink display all amplitude is under 0.6 and clip indicator does not show anything.
If I stop and restart, sometimes it will just play normally without clip with exact same set up, but it's quite random, sometimes I have to restart 5 times to get rid of clipping
Do you perhaps know the reason and how to prevent this from happening? I can provide more information if needed.
Thanks a lot!
Daniel

Hi Daniel, would you mind attaching the .awd so I can try to reproduce the issue?

Hi Kyle,
I have attached the .awd. I also recorded a video of what I observed, in the video the first time I run the design it plays ok, second time it started clipping.
I couldn't attached the .wav file I am using as it's too big >50Mb.
I have also found out that if it's clipping with my output device, the wave file sink still gives me non-clipping wav file.
My laptop has a very good spec and as I mentioned above, it happens with multiple output devices.
Could you investigate into this and let me know how should I address this?
Thank you!
Daniel

Hello Daniel,
Thanks for sending over your materials. Using your design I tested with a wave file and also inserted a Sine wave generator with a linear gain of 1. I did not encounter the distortion issue during playback, or see distortion in the output wav file with the file or sine wave. Can you test with the sine wave generator as well? In some cases I've had audio driver settings causing distortion, so maybe double check in the Server -> Native Audio Settings, or switch audio output devices to see if you get the same results. I've attached the updated design.

Hi Kyle,
Thanks for investigating into the issue. However on my side, playback seems to be okay for the first few seconds and then start clipping, and the degree of clipping is purely random. Like I mentioned and recorded in the video I attached, it can be played back all perfect for this time, and restarting it I will hear distortion. It's reproducable on many output devices and machines running audio weaver. It has started affecting my work and demos, could you help me find a solution or work around to this issue please? I think if you watch again the video I attached in the .zip it clearly shows the issue I am facing. Thanks a lot!
Daniel
