Hi,
Is there a way to 'pipe' audio sources from other programs into the AW server in place of an audio file as a source?
I'm thinking something like Audacity or even a browser tab.
If not, what file formats are supported?
Thanks, Tony

Hi Tony,
Thanks for your question. Unfortunately, Audio Weaver running in Windows currently only supports audio files and microphone inputs on your PC as source for audio. .mp3 and .wav files are always supported by default, but as long as Windows Media Audio knows about an installed codec, you can play audio files of any type you wish.
I like your idea of new audio sources, so I will create a feature request that includes the capability to source audio from external programs.
Let us know if you have any more questions.
Good luck!

Hey Tony,
I have just been informed that there is a simple method to get Audio Weaver to play audio from external programs.
Since Audio Weaver can only receive audio from audio devices, it is not possible to hook directly into any other programs that are outputting audio. However, using Virtual Audio Cable (free download from web) as a virtual audio driver, you can direct the audio output of your program into the VAC in the same way you direct it to headphones, speakers, etc. Audio Weaver can then use the VAC as the line input for audio processing.
I hope you find this useful.

Yep, that did it, thank you, very nice way to extend AW input sources.
Minor bug report. When I restart the project, the server starts playing the last audio file by default. Just stopping and restarting audio play in the server overrides the source selection to use VAC instead. Very minor but it could trick some users, it did me at first.
