Hi, I am trying to understand my MIPS utilization on a SHARC and am confused by the differences between the % CPU reading in the AWE server window and the breakdown I get from the Layout Profile in AWD.
According to the Layout Profile I am using roughly 79% MIPS while the AWE server shows 27% CPU usage.
Can you explain this difference I am seeing?
Is it the 'Peak ticks per block used' value that you are referencing from the Layout Profile tool? That value is known to be buggy and often will exceed 100% even with no audio dropouts.
My testing shows that the 'Average ticks per block used' value roughly matches the value shown in the server.
Hi Axel, Thanks for the feedback. I think I got it figured out. It was an error on my part - I had counted all the MIPS, including the value from the Top category.
